Bulletin No.: 83-90-11

Date: May, 1998

Subject:
Gap Fit Between Passenger SIR Module and the Instrument Panel Trim Plate (Remove and Reinstall PSIR Module)

Model:
1994-98 Buick LeSabre

Condition

Some customers may comment about on a gap between the passenger supplemental inflatable restraint (PSIR) module and the instrument panel trim plate.

Correction

Remove the PSIR module, then reinstall. Follow the procedure described in Section 9J of the appropriate Service Manual. When installing the PSIR module, make sure it is properly located. First install the top two fasteners, then the bottom two fasteners. It is necessary to do this in order to properly locate the PSIR module. When installing the trim plate, push in both sides at the same time. If one side is pressed in first, it will result in a gap between the PSIR module and the trim plate.

Important:
Do not attempt to repair the PSIR module. This module is serviced by replacement only.
