System Operation
Cruise control is a speed control system that maintains a desired vehicle speed under normal driving conditions. The electronic cruise control system has the capability perform the following functions:^ Cruise
^ Coast
^ Resume speed
^ Accelerate
^ Tap-up
^ Tap-down
Steep grades up or down may cause variations in the selected speeds.
The cruise control allows you to maintain a speed of about 40 km/h (25 mph) or more without keeping your foot on the accelerator. This function is helpful on long trips.
The cruise control does not work at speeds below 40 km/h (25 mph).
The cruise control will shut off under the following conditions:
^ When you apply the brake pedal
^ When you turn the ignition switch to OFF
^ When you turn the cruise switch to OFF
