HEATER CORE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

TOOLS REQUIRED
J 37097-A Hose Clamp Pliers






1. Drain the cooling system. Service and Repair
2. Remove the heater hoses (2) from the heater core using the J 37097-A.
3. Remove the right sound insulator. Service and Repair
4. Remove the I/P compartment. Service and Repair
5. Remove the temperature valve actuator. Service and Repair






6. Remove the heater core cover retaining screws.
7. Remove the heater core cover.
8. Remove the heater core retaining screws.
9. Remove the heater core.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE






1. Install the heater core into the vehicle.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the attaching screws.

Tighten
^ Screws to 1.4 Nm (12 lb in).

3. Install the heater core cover.
4. Install the attaching screws.

Tighten
^ Screws to 1.4 Nm (12 lb in).

5. Install the temperature valve actuator.
6. Install the right sound insulator.
7. Install the I/P compartment.






8. Install the heater hoses (2) to the heater core using the J 37097-A.
9. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System.
