TEMP Indicator

The TEMP indicator is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) through CKT 35 (DK GRN). The PCM illuminates the TEMP indicator in order to warn the driver that an engine overbearing condition has been detected. Whenever the PCM senses that the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor has closed, indicating an overheating condition, the PCM grounds CKT 35 (DK GRN), illuminating the indicator. The PCM illuminates the TEMP indicator for approximately 3 seconds during the engine start-up for a bulb inspection.
