Fuel Gauge

The fuel level sender resistance is proportional to the fuel level in the fuel tank. The fuel sender provides the fuel level input signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) on circuit 1589 (PPL) and the fuel sender ground is circuit 808 (BLK). The PCM provides a Pulse-Width Modulated (PWM) fuel level output signal to the instrument cluster fuel gauge, via circuit 455 (PPL/WHT).

When the fuel tank is empty, the fuel level sender resistance is approximately 40 ohms and if the fuel tank is full, the fuel level sender resistance is approximately 248 ohms.
