TEMP Indicator
The TEMP indicator is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) through circuit 35 (DK GRN). The PCM illuminates the TEMP indicator to warn the driver that a engine overheating condition has been detected. Whenever the PCM senses that the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor has closed, indicating an overheating condition, the PCM grounds circuit 35 (DK GRN) and the indicator illuminates. The PCM illuminates the indicator on for approximately three seconds during engine start-up for a bulb check.
