Door Locks

Door Lock Cylinder






Removal Procedure

Important: Ensure that the window is in the full up position.

1. Remove the door trim panel.
2. Remove the water deflector.
3. Tape the window to the header.
4. Remove the window sash nuts.
5. Remove the window from the regulator.
6. Carefully lower the regulator to allow access to the outside door handle.
7. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
8. Disconnect any wire harness (4) that is present.
9. Remove the three screws from the lock assembly (if applicable).
10. Disconnect the locking rod retainer.
11. Remove the locking rod (3).
12. Remove the lock nut or the retainer (1).
13. Remove the cylinder (2).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the gasket over the cylinder (2), (if supplied).
2. Install the cylinder (2), including any wire harnesses (4) that may be attached.
3. Install the lock cylinder nut or retainer (1).
4. Connect any wire harness (4), if disconnected.
5. Install the lock rod (3) to the lock assembly.
6. Install a new lock rod retainer clip if the original clip was damaged or broken.
7. Install the three screws to the lock assembly (if applicable).
8. Connect the negative battery cable.
9. Raise the window regulator in order to install the window.
10. Install the window to the regulator.
11. Install the window sash nuts.
12. Remove the tape that is securing the window.
13. Adjust the window.
14. Install the water deflector.
15. Install the door trim panel.
16. Verify the door lock operation.
