DTC U1255 No Password Status From PCM Within One Minute Of Power-Up:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The Personal Automotive Security System (PASS-Key(R) III) module checks the key transponder upon key insertion and, if the check is successful, sends a fuel continue password to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM replies to the PASS-Key (R) module with a password status message. A failure to receive the expected password status message within a one-minute time frame will cause the PASS-Key (R) III module to set this DTC.
CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
This diagnostic runs at power-up.
ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC. SETS
The vehicle will not start.
CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE MIL/DTC
This DTC will be automatically cleared when the module a successful password message from the PCM.
TEST DESCRIPTION
The PASS-Key (R) III Module contains software programs that perform periodic self tests. The entire diagnostic function is done within the PASS-Key (R) III Module. Diagnostic results are reported over the Class 2 Data Link upon request from a Scan Tool.
