Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

General Information

Important
^ The wire routing for the components inside the steering column is critical. When servicing the ignition lock cylinder, maintain proper wire routing.

^ When learning additional or replacement ignition keys (black or gray) determine the needed mechanical cut (code) and cut the mechanical code into the unlearned ignition key. Note, the mechanical code can be found on the vehicle invoice, ignition lock cylinder or the original ignition key knock out.

^ If the mechanical code can not be determined, the ignition lock cylinder must be replaced. Refer to Steering Wheel and Column On-Vehicle Service.

Use the PASS-Key(R) III System Quick Learn Procedure if learning additional ignition keys (master available), if replacing lost master ignition keys (no master available) or system components use the PASS-Key(R) III System Auto Learn Procedure.
