Troubleshooting Hints - Memory Seats

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
1. Check the rear junction block PWR SEAT circuit breaker for continuity. If open, check for a short to ground in CKT 1340 (ORN).
2. Check the rear junction block MEM/RFA Fuse by visual inspection. If open, check for a short to ground in CKT 2040 (ORN).
3. Check the IP junction block IGN SEN Fuse by visual inspection. If open, check for a short to ground in CKT 241 (BRN).
4. Make sure that grounds G201 and G202 are clean and tight.
5. If a seat motor's internal circuit breaker trips, it will not reset until voltage is removed from the motor.
6. Always check terminal contact before replacing any component.
7. For Lumbar Support (AL2), refer to Lumbar Support. Lumbar Support is packaged with Heated Seats (KAI) under option W01. Testing and Inspection
8. Information on the driver's seat not equipped with the memory function or the RH power seat is located in Power Seats, refer to Power Seats. Testing and Inspection
9. Ensure the keyless entry transmitter in use is set up through the DIC to move the seat to a known memorized position. Refer to Keyless Entry.
10. Before component replacement, check for poor connections at related component and in-line harness connector terminal connections.
11. Check for broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause a system malfunction but prove good in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
12. Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems.
