Troubleshooting Hints - Interior Lights
PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS1. Check the IP junction block SEM Fuse by visual inspection. If open, check CKT 1240 (ORN) for a short to ground.
2. If the cigar lighter and rear cigar lighter in the console (with D07) or the auxiliary power outlet in the seat (without D07) are inoperative, check the rear junction block AUXOTLT Fuse by visual inspection. If open, check CKT 2340 (ORN) for a short to ground
3. If the I/P cigar lighter is inoperative, check the rear junction block C/LTR Fuse by visual inspection. If open, check CKT 1840 (ORN) for a short to ground
4. If the LH rear door cigar lighter is inoperative, check the rear junction block C/LTRL Fuse by visual inspection. If open, check CKT 240 (ORN) for a short to ground
5. If the RH rear door cigar lighter is inoperative, check the rear junction block C/LTRR Fuse by visual inspection. If open, check CKT 1740 (ORN) for a short to ground.
6. Check that grounds G201, G202, G400, and G402 are clean and tight.
7. If only one lamp does not operate or dim, check bulb, socket and related wiring (see schematic).
8. Before component replacement, check for poor connections at related component and in-line harness connector terminal connections.
9. Check for broken (or partially broken) wire inside of the insulation which could cause a system malfunction but prove good in a continuity/voltage check with a system disconnected. These circuits may be intermittent or resistive when loaded, and if possible, should be checked by monitoring for a voltage drop with the system operational (under load).
10. Check for proper installation of aftermarket electronic equipment which may affect the integrity of other systems.
