SBM Functions

The Body Control Module (SBM), is capable of accomplishing multiple body control functions. Systems that are directly connected to the SBM are controlled by the SBM's outputs. The SBM can control its outputs based upon input information it obtains from sensors and switches that are directly connected to the SBM, or by borrowing information from other systems on the serial data line. The SBM evaluates this information and controls certain body systems by commanding an output ON or OFF. The SBM is also capable of commanding other systems to control functions that are not directly wired and/or controlled by the SBM. The SBM accomplishes this by sending specific messages on the serial data line. The system capable of performing this function will respond to the message. The Body Control Module (SBM) is capable of performing the following functions:
