Security Indicator Control

If the Personal Automotive Security System (PASS-Key(R) III) module measures an invalid transponder value for 30 consecutive seconds. The PASS-Key(R) III module sends a message to the Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module to illuminate the SECURITY indicator until the PASS-Key(R) III module determines that the problem is corrected. The PASS-Key(R) III module allows the vehicle to start during this condition.

If the PASS-Key(R) III module detects a problem, the SECURITY indicator illuminates for the first thirty seconds of each ignition cycle, until the problem is corrected.

To control the SECURITY indicator the PASS-Key(R) III module sends a message to the RFA module via the class 2 serial data line. The RFA module illuminates the SECURITY indicator by grounding terminal BS (CKT 264, DK GRN).
