Component Tests and General Diagnostics
PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS1. Distinguish remote function actuator (RFA) operation from the operation of the controlled circuits by checking each of the following systems individually:
^ Retained accessory power. (After ignition is turned OFF, does the radio work until a door is opened or 10 minutes elapses?), refer to Retained Accessory Power. Accessory Delay Module
^ Power door locks from both power door lock switches, refer to Power Door Locks. Power Locks
^ Content Theft Deterrent (CTD) system, refer to Theft Deterrent Systems. Antitheft and Alarm Systems
^ Courtesy lamps with door ajar, refer to Interior Lamps. Lighting and Horns
^ Rear compartment release from Rear Compartment release switch, refer to Release Systems. Trunk / Liftgate
^ Horn from horn button.
^ Park and headlights from headlamp switch.
2. Check transmitter batteries.
3. Before component replacement, check for poor terminal contact at component and harness connectors.
