Component Tests and General Diagnostics
PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS1. Door lock, power window, remote activation and power mirror functions are controlled by modules that are common to all of these systems. These modules are connected by serial data links. Therefore, the first step in diagnosing any one of these systems must be to check the functions (trunk release, windows up, windows down, etc.) of all systems.
2. Using a scan tool, check for Remote Function Actuator (RFA) module and all door module state of health DTCs to quickly identify if any module has a power, ground or serial data link fault.
3. Before component replacement, check for poor terminal contact at component and related harness connectors.
4. Here there is a Power Door Locks DTC Diagnostic System Check and DTC Tables, followed by a non-DTC Power Door Locks Diagnostic System Check with an independent set of diagnostic tables.
