Troubleshooting Hints - Gauges and Warning Indicators

PERFORM BEFORE BEGINNING SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
1. Check SBM/LCM fuse in the underhood junction block by visual inspection.
2. Check PCM/CRU fuse in the rear junction block by visual inspection.
3. If more than one indicator or gauge is out, check common power and ground inputs.
4. Before component replacement, check for poor connections component and connector terminal connections. Refer to Troubleshooting Hints in Electrical Diagnosis. Diagnostic Aids
5. The instrument cluster dashes the a display if the serial data line or an interacting module are not communicating.

After Diagnosis Is Complete
After diagnosing a problem, in addition to repairing the discovered malfunction, clear any DTC set and verify proper operation. To verify proper operation, duplicate the conditions when the customer's complaint occurred or if a DTC was set, duplicate the test conditions for that DTC (listed on the facing page of the trouble chart) and see if the DTC sets again.
