To assist GM Dealers in both selling and servicing GM audio sound systems, the "GM SOUND SELLING PROGRAM" is divided into three separate audio programs. GMSPO Bulletin IB # 97-296 (October, 1997) contains complete details on all three programs. The illustration shows how the three programs are related.
GM Sound Selling Upgrade Program
The "GM Sound Selling Upgrade Program" is designed to help GM Dealers satisfy their new vehicle buyers' desire for premium audio systems at the point of sale. The Upgrade Program provides dealers with a wide selection of Delco audio, communications, navigation and accessory products most preferred by today's GM buyers. If used to the fullest, the Upgrade and Return Programs can assure sales and profit opportunities, greater convenience and improved customer satisfaction.
The two main features of this program are 1.) to return eligible production take-out radios for credit; and 2.) to purchase radio upgrades and enhancement products.
GM Accessory Stock Adjustment Program
The "GM Accessory Stock Adjustment Program" is designed to allow GM Dealers to return unopened radio and audio enhancement products (excluding cellular phone products). The terms of this program are outlined in GMSPO Bulletin B # 97-224 (July, 1997).
GM Sound Selling Radio Remanufacture Program
The "GM Sound Selling Radio Remanufacture Program" is designed to help the GM Dealer satisfy the consumer's warranty service needs, as well as crash, fire, theft and flood replacement needs in a rapid, efficient and cost effective manner.
