Case Cover and Gaskets Assemble





1. Assemble the upper and lower gaskets (430, 429) for the automatic transmission case cover.

IMPORTANT: Do not use any type of adhesive or sealer when assembling the gaskets. You may use Transjel(R) or equivalent as an aid.





2. Use Transjel(R) or equivalent in order to retain the thrust washer (432) to the case cover (400).

IMPORTANT: Be careful to not move the gaskets.

3. Make sure that the manual valve (404) is held in place and assemble the case cover (400) onto the pins in the case.





4. Finger start all transaxle case cover bolts (433, 434, 435, 436) into the locations noted.
^ Tighten the M 6 size bolts (433, 434, 436) to 11 Nm (97 inch lbs.).
^ Tighten the M 8 size bolts (4356) to 25 Nm (18 inch lbs.).

IMPORTANT: Do not use an impact wrench.
