Thermostat Bypass Pipe

Heater Hoses:

Tools Required:
J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers
J 38723 Heater Line Quick Connect Separator

Remove or Disconnect

1. Drain cooling system.
2. Air cleaner and duct assembly.
3. Left side torque strut mount.
4. Upper radiator hose from housing.
5. Transmission modulator vacuum pipe.
6. Spark plugs wires right bank.
7. Outlet hoses from thermostat bypass pipe.
8. Thermostat bypass pipe mounting bolts and nut.
9. Thermostat bypass pipe.

Install or Connect

1. Thermostat bypass pipe.
2. Thermostat bypass pipe mounting bolts and nut.

Tighten
^ Bolt to water pump housing 12 N.m (106 lb. in.).
^ Bolt to cylinder head 25 N.m (18 lb. ft.).
^ Nut to 25 N.m (18 lb. ft.).

3. Outlet hoses to thermostat bypass pipe.
4. Spark plugs wires right bank.
5. Transmission modulator vacuum pipe.
6. Upper radiator hose to housing.
7. Left side torque strut mount.
8. Air cleaner and duct assembly.
9. Refill cooling system.
