Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs)

Erase DTCs in the EBTCM in one of the following two ways:

DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER SCAN TOOL METHOD
1. Select DTCs
2. DTCs will view completely
3. The message CLEAR DTCs will prompt
4. Answer YES
5. The message HISTORY DATA WILL BE LOST will prompt
6. Answer YES
7. DTCs will clear


IGNITION CYCLE DEFAULT
1. Turn the ignition to RUN to start the drive cycle.
2. Existing DTCs will clear from the EBTCM memory if no diagnostic trouble codes occur for 100 drive cycles.
3. Verify proper system operation and verify absence of DTC when the clearing procedure is complete.
All DTCs must be displayed before the EBTCM will permit DTC clearing. The following procedures will not clear DTCs:
^ Unplugging the EBTCM
^ Disconnecting the battery cables
^ Turning the ignition OFF (except in the Ignition Cycle Default method)
