Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Random

The RDM (random) button is a non-latching control that serves a dual function with one of the radio presets. Depressing this control in the CD play mode, causes the current selection to stop playing while a random playback order is chosen by the microcomputer. Play then resumes with the tracks being played in the random order that was chosen. When the final selection has been played, the unit will continue play in the original random order.

On integral cassette units with disc changer option, the preset 5 is used to control the unlabeled CD random function.

Pressing the random push-button at any point during random playback causes the playback to continue in the normal sequence beginning with the current track.

For remote CD changer options, the random feature will operate between tracks on all available discs.

The random symbol (RDM) will be displayed when the feature is active.
