Power Mirror

The power mirrors are adjusted from the interior of the vehicle by moving the power mirror switch in the desired direction.

Each outside power mirror has two reversible motors. One adjusts the power mirror view up and down, the other adjusts the power mirror view right and left. The driver operates the UP-DOWN/LEFT-RIGHT switch to control the polarity of the voltage motors. The power mirror select switch directs these control voltages to either the RH or LH outside power mirror.

With the power mirror select switch in the LH position and the power mirror switch held in the UP position, battery voltage is applied through the UP contacts of the power mirror switch to the up-down motor in the LH outside power mirror. The LH outside power mirror up-down motor has a path to ground through the power mirror select switch and the DOWN contact of the power mirror switch to ground. The LH outside power mirror up-down motor runs and turns the power mirror up.

When the power mirror switch is pushed to the DOWN position, the LH outside power mirror UP-DOWN motor receives voltage; however, voltage polarity is reversed. The motor runs in the opposite direction.

The LH outside power mirror left-right motor operates similarly. When the power mirror switch is moved to the LEFT position, battery voltage is applied through the LEFT-RIGHT motor in the LH outside power mirror. The LH outside power mirror has a path to ground through the power mirror select switch and the RH contact of the power mirror switch to ground. The LH outside power mirror left-right motor runs and turns the power mirror to the left.

If the LEFT-RIGHT switch is pushed to the RIGHT position, the same motor receives voltage; however, voltage polarity is reversed. The motor runs in the opposite direction.

The RH outside power mirror works the same way as the LH outside power mirror when the power mirror select switch is moved to the RH position and the UP-DOWN and LEFT-RIGHT switches are operated.
