Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement (Front)

^ TOOLS REQUIRED
- J38764-1A Wheel Speed Sensor Installer
- J22912-01 Split Plate Puller

1. Disconnect the wheel speed sensor connector.
2. Remove the hub and bearing assembly. Clean all of the dirt and debris from the entire assembly before removing the sensor.

Important:
^ Do not allow debris to enter the bearing when the sensor is removed.
^ Do not add lubricant to the sensor housing opening. The bearing is lubricated for the life of the vehicle.
^ Do not clean grease from the toothed sensor ring. Grease does not affect the sensor operation.
^ Inspect the bearing and the sensor cap for any indication of water or debris (i.e., rust or very fluid grease).
^ If there is any indication that water or debris is present, replace the entire hub and bearing assembly.

3. Use the J22912-01 or an equivalent in order to remove the sensor and the slinger from the bearing assembly.
4. Clean the sealant from the outer diameter of the bearing hub. Use a clean, lint free cloth.
