REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Do steps 1 through 5 under REMOVE OR DISCONNECT in UPPER COVER LOWER COVER.

NOTICE: If removing ignition lock actuator assembly (12) or lock bolt assembly (24) it is not necessary to remove pass key wire harness. Let lock cylinder set hang freely and do steps 5 and 6.

2. Steering column lock cylinder set (15).
A. Turn lock cylinder (15) to "RUN" position.
B. Push against locking button on back side of bearing & housing assembly (11) and remove lock cylinder (15).
C. Lock pre-load spring (13).

3. Pass key wire harness from column.
A. Bulkhead connector from vehicle wire harness.
B. Grey turn signal switch connector from bulkhead connector.
C. 17-way secondary lock from turn signal switch connector.
D. Two pass key terminals from cavities 16 and 17 of grey turn signal switch connector.
E. Pass key wire harness from wire harness strap (57) and two securing locations.
^ Turn signal & multifunction switch (32).
^ Upper head housing assembly (11).
F. Wiring protector (14).

4. Ignition lock actuator assembly (12) from upper head housing assembly (11) with needle nose pliers.
5. Lock bolt assembly (24).
A. Do steps 6 through 11 under REMOVE OR DISCONNECT in UPPER COVER LOWER COVER.
B. Do steps 2 through 5 under REMOVE OR DISCONNECT in SIR COIL ASSEMBLY.
C. Do steps 2 through 4 under REMOVE OR DISCONNECT in UPPER HEAD HOUSING COMPONENTS. Two pan head tapping screws (26). Lock bolt support bracket (25). Lock bolt (24) from housing assembly (11).

INSTALL OR CONNECT

NOTICE: Always use the correct fastener in the proper location. When you replace a fastener, use ONLY the exact part number for that application. The manufacturer will call out those fasteners that require a replacement after removal. The manufacturer will also call out the fasteners that require thread lockers or thread sealant. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, do not use supplemental coatings (paints, greases, or other corrosion inhibitors) on threaded fasteners or fastener joint interfaces. Generally, such coatings adversely affect the fastener torque and joint clamping force, and may damage the fastener. When you install fasteners, use the correct tightening sequence and specifications. Following these instructions can help you avoid damage to parts and systems. Failure to do so may result in component damage or malfunction of steering column.

1. Lock bolt assembly (24) and upper head housing components to upper head housing assembly (11)
A. Lock bolt assembly (24).
B. Lock bolt support bracket (25)
C. Two tapping screws (26).
D. Seat upper tapping screw (263 first and lower screw (26) second.

Tighten
Tighten two screws (26) to 5 Nm (44 lb in).

2. Ignition lock actuator assembly (12) to housing assembly (11).
A. End of lock bolt (24) flush with support bracket (25).
B. Ignition lock actuator assembly (12) to housing assembly (11).
C. Rotate actuator (12) counterclockwise until it pushes out lock bolt (24) arid actuator (12) seats into housing assembly (11).
D. Rotate actuator (12) clockwise to "RUN" position.
3. Do steps 5 through 7 under INSTALL OR CONNECT in UPPER HEAD HOUSING COMPONENTS.
4. Do steps 1 through 4 under INSTALL OR CONNECT in SIR COIL ASSEMBLY.
5. Do steps 1 through 6 under INSTALL OR CONNECT in UPPER COVER LOWER COVER.
6. Steering column lock cylinder set (15).
^ Key installed in lock cylinder (15).
^ Ensure sector is in "RUN" position.
^ Line up locking tab with slot in housing assembly (11) and push into position.
^ Lock pre-load spring (13) to housing assembly (11).
7. Pass key wire harness to column.
A. Secure wire harness to housing assembly (11) and multifunction switch (32) and route through wire harness strap (57).
B. Two terminals to cavities 16 and 17 in grey turn signal switch connector (cavities optional).
C. 17-way secondary lock to turn signal switch connector.
D. Grey turn signal switch connector to bulkhead connector.
E. Bulkhead connector to vehicle wire harness.
