Drive Sprocket and Turbine Shaft Assemble

^ Tools Required
- J 29569-1 / J 29829-1 Sea] Installer
- J 29569-2 / J 29829-2 Sizing Tool
- J 36850 TRANSJEL(R) or equivalent





1. Inspect the driven sprocket (506) for the following:
^ Worn or chipped teeth
^ Uniform teeth size
^ Stripped or damaged splines
^ Bearing surface damage

2. Inspect the thrust washer for the fourth clutch shaft (505) and for the driven sprocket (508) for wear or cracks.





3. Inspect the drive sprocket (516) for the following:
^ Worn or chipped teeth
^ Uniform teeth size
^ Stripped or damaged splines
^ Bearing surface damage

4. Inspect the turbine shaft for the following:
^ A cracked sleeve
^ Damaged bushing Journals
^ Stripped or damaged converter turbine splines

5. Inspect the thrust washers (514, 517) for wear or cracks.





6. Insert the turbine shaft (518) into the drive sprocket (516) and attach the snap ring (515).





7. Install J 29569-1 / J 29829-1 (identified in the graphic) onto the turbine shaft (518). Coat the shaft with J 36850 TRANSJEL(R) or equivalent.
8. Slide the turbine shaft seals (513) into position.





9. Use J 29569-2 / J 29829-2 (identified in the graphic) in order to size the seals.





10. Install J 29569-1 / J 29829-1 (identified in the graphic) onto the turbine shaft (518). Coat the shaft with TRANSJEL(R) or equivalent.
11. Slide the turbine shaft seals (519) into position.





12. Use J 29569-2 / J 29829-2 (identified in the graphic) in order to size the seals.
