REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
Tool Required:
J 39232 Wiper Transmission Separator
1. Wiper arm assemblies. Refer to "Wiper Arm Assembly Replacement."
2. Negative battery cable from battery.
3. Hose (11) from washer hose (23).
4. Air inlet panel (24) from vehicle.
A. Remove five retainers (25) from air inlet panel (24).
B. Push washer hose (23) into firewall.
C. Remove air inlet panel (24) from vehicle.
5. Transmission drive link socket (P) from wiper motor crank arm (26) using J 39232.
6. Two harness connectors (19) from wiper motor assembly (22).
A. Pull two retainers (K) out of two connectors (19).
B. Disconnect two harness connectors (19) from wiper motor assembly (22).
7. Two screws (27), stud (28), and wiper motor assembly (22) from vehicle.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
Tool Required:
J 39529 Wiper Transmission Installer
NOTE: Refer to the Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
1. Wiper motor assembly (22) on vehicle with two screws (27) and one stud (28).
Tighten
Screws and stud to 15 N.m (132 lb. in.).
2. Two harness connectors (19) on wiper motor assembly (22).
3. Two retainers (K) on two harness connectors (19).
4. Transmission drive link socket (P) on wiper motor crank arm (26) using J 39529. Be sure socket is fully seated on crank arm.
5. Air inlet panel (24) on vehicle.
A. Place air inlet panel (24) on vehicle in installation position.
B. Pull washer hose (23) through firewall. Ensure that washer hose fitting (Q) is seated in hole in firewall.
C. Install five retainers (25) starting with the middle one and working outward.
6. Hose (11) to washer hose (23).
7. Negative battery cable to battery.
