General Information

The Multi-Function Alarm Module supplies power to all Courtesy, header, Reading. IP Compartment and Luggage Compartment lamps with a feature called Inadvertent Power Control.

The Left front Door handle Switch turns on the Interior Lamps through the Multi-Function Alarm Module by grounding the 394 CKT. When the Left front door is opened, the switch closes, providing ground and a door open input to the Multi-Function Alarm Module. The module then grounds the Courtesy Lamps and Dome Lamps to turn them on. The Right front Door Handle Switch and rear Door Jamb Switches turn on the Interior Lamps by grounding the 395 CKT from the Multi-Function Alarm Module.

The Panel Dimmer Switch also turns on the Interior Lamps independent of the door switches by providing a ground circuit for the Interior Lamps.

The Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RFA) grounds the Interior lamps for approximately 40 seconds when a door unlock signal is received by the RFA or until the Ignition Switch is turned to RUN.

An interior lamps-on delay is provided by the Multi-Function Alarm Module after the Left front door has been opened. The lamps remain on for about 40 seconds or until the Ignition Switch is turned to RUN. This 40 second lamps-on delay is reduced to 4 seconds if a front door is opened within 2 minutes after the Ignition Switch is moved from the RUN, START or BULB TEST position. In addition, the interior lamps will turn off immediately when the vehicle begins to move.

Voltage is applied at all times through the INT LAMP Fuse to the Multi-Function Alarm Module. The Multi-Function Alarm Module then applies voltage at all times to its internal feature, Inadvertent Power Control. With the Ignition Switch in RUN, BULB TEST or START, voltage is applied to the Multi-Function Alarm Module through the ALARM Fuse. Voltage is also applied at all times through the LTR Fuse to the Cigar Lighter.
