Vehicle Theft Deterrent - Component Changing Diagram:
The PASSLOCK TM System is designed to prevent theft even if various theft deterrent parts are changed. Parts that can no longer be changed without the possibility of going into a tamper mode are:
^ PASSLOCK TM Lock Cylinder
^ Instrument Cluster
^ Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
If any of these parts are replaced, the vehicle may start and stall for 10 (ten) minutes (LONG TAMPER MODE). If this occurs, the system MUST go through a Long Tamper Mode cycle. During this time, the THEFT Indicator will be flashing for the full ten minutes. The Instrument Cluster and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) require the full ten minutes to complete a learn cycle. The Ignition Switch MUST remain in the RUN position until the indicator stops flashing or the cycle will have to be repeated.
