SBM Wake-Up/ Sleep State
The SBM is able to control or perform all the functions in the wake-up state. The SBM enters the sleep state when the following conditions occur:^ The active control/monitoring of the system malfunctions stops.
^ The SBM becomes idle again.
The SBM must detect certain wake-up inputs before entering the wake-up state. The SBM monitors for these inputs during the sleep state. In the sleep state the SBM is able to detect the switch transitions that cause the SBM to wake-up.
The SBM requires multiple switch wake-ups in order to sense the removal of or the insertion of the ignition key.
This allows the SBM to enter a sleep state when the key is in the ignition.
