Rear Lower

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Remove the rear suspension support assembly. Refer to Support Replacement.
2. Remove the Electronic Level Control (ELC) height sensor link on the left control arm.
3. Remove the stabilizer link bolt and the nut.
4. Disconnect the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) electrical connector.
5. Remove the hub and the bearing. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear.





6. Remove the tie rod. Refer to Adjustment Link Replacement.





7. Remove the bolt and the nut securing the control arm to the rear suspension support assembly.
8. Remove the control arm.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the control arm to the rear suspension support assembly.

IMPORTANT: Tighten the control arm nuts with the vehicle unsupported and resting on the wheels at the normal trim height. Refer to Trim Height Specifications in Wheel Alignment.

2. Install the bolts and the nuts.
3. Install the hub bearing, if necessary. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear.
4. Connect the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) electrical connector.





5. Install the tie rod. Refer to Adjustment Link Replacement.
- Tighten hex nut to 50 Nm (36 ft. lbs.).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.





6. Install the stabilizer link bolt and the nut.
- Tighten the nut to 17 Nm (13 ft. lbs.).

7. Install the Electronic Level Control (ELC) height sensor link on the left control arm.
8. Install the rear suspension support assembly. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Rear.
9. Lower the vehicle.
- Tighten the control arm nuts to 106 Nm (78 ft. lbs.).
