Condition

Some customers may comment about the high effort to move the Range Selector (Gear Shift) Control Lever to a desired position. The high effort can occur in either direction.

Correction

An improved Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Cable Assembly is now available from GMSPO. Replace the existing Automatic Transmission Range Selector Lever Cable Assembly with the new assembly, P/N 25713062.

Refer to the Automatic Transaxle - 4T65-E sub-section of the Service Manual for replacement procedures.
