Window Glass: Service and Repair




REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
^ When working with any type of glass, use approved safety glasses and gloves to reduce the chance Of personal injury.
^ Refer to Door Window Express Down in Cautions and Notices.


1. Remove the trim panel.
2. Remove the water deflector.
3. Remove the inner and outer belt moldings.
4. Remove the speaker assembly.
5. Raise or lower the window regulator in order to access the 2 window clamps through the access hole.
6. Loosen the front guide channel bolts. Remove the guide, if needed.
7. Depress the tabs on the window clamps (2) in order to release the window from the regulator.
8. Remove the window (1) by tilting forward and pulling the window up and out of the door.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
^ When working with any type of glass, use approved safety glasses and gloves to reduce the chance of personal injury.
^ Refer to Door Window Express Down in Cautions and Notices.


1. Install the plastic clamps (2) to the glass.

IMPORTANT: The window regulator should be at least half way down before installing the window. Tilt the front edge of the window downward.

2. Install the window clamps (2) into the window regulator channel.
3. Align the rear of the window into the channel.
4. Rotate the window rearward back to the level position.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Tighten the front guide channel bolts, if loosened.

Tighten
Tighten the front guide channel bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

6. Raise the rear window to the full closed position.

Tighten
Tighten the window clamp fasteners to 11 N.m (97 lb in).

7. Install the water deflector.
8. Install the speaker assembly.
9. Install the inner and outer belt moldings.
10. Install the trim panel.
