Control Module HVAC: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the right side instrument panel insulator.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the blower motor control module.
4. Disconnect the blower motor control module electrical connector from the blower motor.
IMPORTANT: The opening to the blower motor control module is slotted. Access to the blower motor control module opening is limited.
5. Loosen both of the forward screws.
6. Remove the rearward screw.
IMPORTANT: Tilt down the rear of the blower motor control module.
7. Remove the [1][2]blower control module.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Align the blower motor control module forward retaining slots onto screws and seat against HVAC module.
1. Install the blower motor control module.
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the blower motor control module rearward screw.
Tighten
Tighten the blower motor control module screw to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).
3. Install the blower motor control module forward screws.
Tighten
Tighten the blower motor control module screws to 1.5 N.m (13 lb in).
4. Connect the blower motor control module electrical connector to the blower motor.
5. Connect the electrical connector from the blower motor control module.
6. Install the right side instrument panel insulator.
7. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Starting and Charging Systems.
