Brake Pedal Bracket Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





1. Remove the Brake pedal.
2. Remove the wiring harness clips from the bracket (3).





3. Remove the brake pedal bracket upper mounting nuts to cross car beam.
4. Remove the brake pedal bracket upper mounting bolts to cross car beam.
5. Remove the brake pedal bracket lower mounting bolts to reinforcement bracket.
6. Remove the brake pedal bracket.
7. Inspect all components for wear. Repair or replace the worn parts as necessary.


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the brake pedal bracket (1).

NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the brake pedal bracket lower mounting bolts to the reinforcement bracket.

^ Tighten the bolts to 22 Nm (16 ft. lbs.).

3. Install the brake pedal upper mounting bolts to the cross car beam.

^ Tighten the upper mounting bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

4. Install the brake pedal bracket upper mounting nuts to the cross car beam.

^ Tighten the nuts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

5. Install the Brake pedal.
6. Install the wiring harness clips to the bracket.
7. Adjust the stoplamp switch.
