Headlamp Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Using a plastic flat-bladed tool as an aid if necessary, pull the rearward edge of the LH Instrument Panel (IP) access opening cover outboard to release the retainers.
2. Release the forward edge of the LH IP access opening cover from behind the hinge pillar and remove the cover.




3. Remove the screws retaining the headlamp switch.




4. Carefully pull the headlamp switch outboard away from the IP to access the electrical connector.
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the headlamp switch.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Connect the electrical connector to the headlamp switch.
2. Align the headlamp switch tabs to the IP and install the switch into position.





NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the headlamp switch retaining screws.

Tighten
Tighten the headlamp switch retaining screws to 1.8 N.m (16 lb in).





4. Align and insert the forward edge of the LH IP access opening cover behind the hinge pillar.
5. Align the IP access opening cover retainers to the slots on the IP trim pad and press firmly to secure.
