Balance (BAL) Control

The balance (BAL) control is a 270 degree rotary pop-out/pull knob with a center detent that is shared with the fade function. The control operates in the following manner:
1. Press and release and the knob to the out position.
2. Rotate the knob clockwise to shift the volume from the left speakers to the right speakers.
3. Rotate the knob counter-clockwise to shift the volume from the right speakers to the left speakers.

At full rotation in either direction, the audio is eliminated from the corresponding left and right channels. This control is active in either the in or out position.

The BOSE(R) models have the same feature functionality for all channels except the subwoofer output. The subwoofer has the left and the right audio summed together. The subwoofer has the audio cut completely from the opposite channel at the last left and the last right balance steps only. Intermediate balance adjustments have no effect on the subwoofer output level. The radio display is not affected by balance changes.
