Delayed Locking

The Delayed Locking feature allows the driver to delay the locking of the vehicle after the lock switch has been activated.

Upon activating the lock switch with the driver's door open, a chime sounds in order to let the driver know that the Delayed Locking mode is engaged. After all of the doors have been closed for 5 seconds, the doors will lock automatically. If you open any door before the 5 seconds have elapsed, the timer will reset when all of the doors are closed. You may program this feature ON or OFF for each transmitter. You must enable the Delayed Locking feature with the scan tool in order to have access to this feature. The RFA module software for the Delayed Locking feature is turned OFF on all new vehicles and service replacement parts. Use the following procedure in order to perform initial activation of Delayed Locking:
1. Connect the scan tool.
2. Select the vehicle being programmed.
3. Select Body.
4. Select RFA.
5. Select RFA Test.
6. Select Set Options.
7. Select Options 0.
^ Follow the screen prompts and instructions.
^ During Step 8, use the EXIT key in order to change from one function screen to another screen. Do not use the Yes or No keys. If YES or NO is pressed, the other features may become disabled.
8. Scroll through the screens until Delayed Locking is displayed.
9. Select Yes.
10. Exit the system.
11. Disconnect the scan tool.

To Turn Delayed Locking Feature Off (if currently enabled)
1. Hold ON the LOCK switch.
2. Press the transmitter UNLOCK button. The following actions will occur:
^ All of the doors will unlock.
^ The Delayed Locking enables.
3. Press the transmitter UNLOCK button again. The following actions will occur:
^ All of the doors will lock.
^ The Delayed Locking disables.

To Turn Delayed Locking Feature On (if currently disabled)
1. Hold ON the LOCK switch.
2. Press the transmitter UNLOCK button. The following actions will occur:
^ All of the doors lock.
^ The Delayed Locking remains disabled.
3. Press the transmitter UNLOCK again. The following actions will occur:
^ All of the doors unlock.
^ The Delayed Locking is enabled.
