Turn Lights

With the ignition switch in the RUN or START position, battery positive voltage (B+) is applied through the instrument panel (IP) fuse block TURN LAMPS fuse via CKT 539 (PNK) to the turn signal flasher. Battery positive voltage (B+) is then applied to each turn switch in the turn/hazard switch assembly via CKT 16 (PPL). With the turn switch in the LH TURN position, battery positive voltage (B+) is applied through the turn/hazard switch assembly through 2 paths to the lamps. One path is through the left front park/turn lamps and the side marker lamps. The second path is applied through the left tail/stop/turn lamps. The lamps turn on immediately. The lamps begin to flash when both of the following conditions exist:
^ The current heats the timing element in the turn signal flasher.
^ The flasher repeatedly opens and closes the circuit.

A similar procedure is followed when the turn switch is in the RH TURN position.
