Headlamp Replacement
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
CAUTION: Halogen bulbs contain gas under pressure. Handling a bulb improperly could cause it to shatter into flying glass fragments. To help avoid personal injury:
^ Turn off the lamp switch and allow the bulb to cool before changing the bulb. Leave the lamp switch oft until the bulb change is complete.
^ Always wear eye protection when changing a halogen bulb.
^ Handle the bulb only by its base. Avoid touching the glass.
^ Do not drop or scratch the bulb.
^ Keep dirt and moisture off the bulb.
^ Place the used bulb in the new bulb's carton and dispose of it properly.
^ Keep halogen bulbs out of the reach of children
1. Remove the front bumper fascia from the front fender.
2. Remove the front cornering lamp.
3. Remove the 4 bolts (2) that retain the headlamp to the vehicle.
4. Remove the headlamp module (3).
5. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1).
6. Turn the headlamp bulbs in a counterclockwise direction in order to remove the bulbs.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Turn the headlamp bulbs in a clockwise direction in order to install the bulbs.
2. Connect the electrical connectors (1).
3. Install the headlamp module (3) to the vehicle.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
4. Install the bolts (2) in order to retain the headlamp.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 9.5 N.m (84 lb in).
5. Install the front cornering lamp.
6. Install the front bumper fascia to the front fender.
7. If a new headlamp module was installed, remove the horizontal aim adjuster restrictor from the headlamp. Discard the restrictor.
8. Aim the headlamp. Refer to Headlamp Aiming (Buick). Headlamp Aiming
