Air Bypass Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the boost source vacuum hose (5) to the boost control solenoid (4).
2. Disconnect the signal vacuum hose (3) to the boost control solenoid (4).
3. Remove the boost control solenoid (4).




4. Remove the bypass valve actuator mounting bolts (2) and rotate the bypass valve actuator (1) until the rod disengages the lever.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install tool J 39363 (2) on to the bypass valve actuator (1).

IMPORTANT: When installing the bypass valve actuator to the supercharger, be sure to rotate the assembly until the bypass valve shaft lever comes in contact with the stop block.

2. Rotate the actuator until the rod engages the lever.




3. Install the bypass valve actuator (1) mounting bolts (2).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).




4. Remove J39363.
5. Install the boost control solenoid (4).
6. Connect the signal vacuum hose (3) to the boost control solenoid (4).
7. Connect the boost source vacuum hose (5) to the boost control solenoid (4).
