Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE





TOOLS REQUIRED
J34730 Fuel Pressure Gauge

1. Relieve the fuel system fuel pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief Procedure.
2. Remove the rear compartment floor trim (1).
3. Remove the bolts from the fuel sender access panel (2).




4. Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor (1) electrical sensor connector.




5. Remove the fuel tank pressure sensor from the sender.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the new fuel tank vapor pressure sensor into the modular fuel sender.




2. Connect the fuel tank pressure sensor (1) electrical sensor connector.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




3. Reinstall the fuel sender access panel bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 2 N.m (18 lb in).




4. Reinstall the trunk liner (1).
5. Tighten the fuel tank filler pipe cap.
6. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
7. Reinstall the rear seat cushion.
