Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Remove the fuel injection sight shield.
2. Remove the TP (Throttle Position) sensor electrical connector from the TP sensor.
3. Remove the two TP sensor attaching screws from the throttle body.
4. Remove the TP sensor from the throttle body.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. With the throttle valve in the normal closed position, install the TP sensor in to the throttle body assembly.
2. Apply thread-locking compound on the screws. Loctite 262(R), GM P/N 1052624, or equivalent should be used.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
3. Install the two TP sensor attaching screws.
Tighten
Tighten the TP sensor attaching screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
4. Install the TP sensor electrical connector to the TP sensor.
5. Install the fuel injection sight shield.
Tighten
Tighten the fuel injection sight shield to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
