Draining the Power Steering System

1. Replacing the power steering fluid is a two-stage process:
1.1. Flush the old fluid from the power steering system using new fluid.
1.2. Bleed the power steering system in order to remove any trapped air.

2. You may also use this procedure in cold climates, where temperatures are -12°C (10°F) or colder:
- Flush the system.
- Change the fluid.
- Use Low Temperature Climate Service Fluid, GM P/N 12345866 or the equivalent.
