B3103 KEYLESS ENTRY DATA LINK CIRCUIT HIGH

Diagnostic Chart:

Schematic:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The Body Control Module (BCM) is connected to the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver by a communication circuit. This data link circuit is how the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver tells the BCM what functions to operate.

CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC
The BCM must be in the middle of receiving a message from the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver while in the Transmitter Programming mode.

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
The BCM detects a short to battery in the communication circuit.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
The BCM stores DTC B3103 in memory.

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
^ A current DTC B3103 will clear if the short to ground in communication circuit is no longer detected by the BCM.
^ A history DTC B3103 will clear after 100 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present.
^ A scan tool may be used to clear the DTC.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
If the DTC B3103 is a history DTC, the fault may be intermittent. Refer to Testing for Intermittent and Poor Connections in Diagrams.

TEST DESCRIPTION
The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table.
