Oil Pump Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement
2. Remove the bolt attaching the oil pump to the rear crankshaft bearing cap.
3. Remove the oil pump and driveshaft.
4. Inspect the driveshaft at both ends for rounding of the corners.
5. Inspect the oil pump. Refer to Oil Pump Disassemble, Oil Pump Clean and Inspect and Oil Pump Assemble.

Installation Procedure

Important: Rotate the driveshaft as necessary in order to obtain the engagement with the oil pump drive unit.





1. Install the oil pump and driveshaft.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the bolt attaching the oil pump to the rear crankshaft bearing cap.
Tighten the oil pump bolt to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement.
