Service Engine Soon

The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) controls the SERVICE ENGINE SOON indicator through CKT 419. The PCM turns the indicator ON for approximately 3 seconds during engine start-up for a bulb check. The PCM lights the SERVICE ENGINE SOON indicator in order to warn the driver that an engine control malfunction has been detected. This condition may affect the engine performance.
