Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Remove the 3 bolts from the inner fender brace and remove the brace.
3. Disconnect the IAT sensor electrical connector.
4. Disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector.
5. Disconnect the air tube from the air intake duct.
6. Loosen the clamp securing the MAF sensor to the air cleaner housing.
7. Loosen the clamp securing the air duct 10 the throttle body.
8. Carefully remove the air intake duct/MAP sensor from the throttle body and air cleaner housing.
9. Remove the 2 screws (2) from the 2 air cleaner housing sections (1-3).
10. Remove the air cleaner housing cover assembly (1).
11. Without disconnecting the PCM connectors, remove the PCM and harness from the PCM housing.
12. Carefully remove the PCM housing (1) by pulling the cover from the 2 rubber grommets (2) in the engine compartment. inspect the assembly for signs of damage and replace if required.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Carefully reinstall the PCM housing (1) by pushing the cover into the 2 rubber grommets (2) in the engine compartment.
2. Carefully install the PCM and harness into the PCM housing (3).
3. Install the air cleaner housing cover assembly (1).
4. Install the 2 screws (2) from the 2 air cleaner housing sections.
5. Carefully reinstall the air intake duct/MAP sensor to the throttle body and air cleaner housing (1).
6. Tighten the clamp securing the air intake duct to the air cleaner housing.
7. Connect the air tube from the air intake duct.
8. Connect the MAP sensor electrical connector.
9. Connect the IAT sensor electrical connector.
10. Position the inner fender brace and reinstall the 3 bolts.
