Compressor Hose Assembly Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly.
3. Remove the cross vehicle brace if equipped.
4. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. See Refrigerant, A/C - Service and Repair.
5. Remove the compressor hose nut (1) from the condenser.




6. Position the compressor hose aside from the condenser.




7. Remove the compressor hose nut (2) from the accumulator.




8. Position the compressor hose aside from the accumulator.




9. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
10. Remove the lower air deflector.

IMPORTANT: Remove and discard all the used O-ring and sealing washers.

11. Remove the bolt and the compressor line at the compressor.
12. Remove the compressor hose assembly.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the compressor hose assembly.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

IMPORTANT: Lubricate the new O-ring with mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil.

2. Install the new O-ring onto the compressor hose assembly.
Install the new sealing washers onto the compressor hose assembly.

3. Install the compressor hose assembly and bolt at the rear of the compressor.

Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose bolt to 33 N.m (24 lb ft).




4. Install the lower air deflector.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Install the compressor hose to the accumulator.




7. Install the compressor hose nut (2) onto the accumulator.

Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).




8. Install the compressor hose to the condenser.




9. Install the compressor hose nut (1).

Tighten
Tighten the compressor hose nut to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).

10. Evacuate and recharge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. See Refrigerant, A/C - Service and Repair.
11. Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to Leak Testing. Testing and Inspection
12. Install the cross vehicle brace, if equipped.
12. Install the air cleaner and duct assembly.
13. Connect the negative battery cable.
