Parking Brake Warning Switch: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the left side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Insulator Replacement-IP (LH) or Insulator Replacement-IP (RH) in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
2. Remove the left carpet retainer and pull carpet back. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement (Front) or Carpet Retainer Replacement (Rear).





3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the park brake warning lamp switch (1).
4. Remove the switch mounting screw.
5. Remove the switch.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the park brake warning lamp switch (1).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the switch mounting screw.
^ Tighten the park brake warning lamp switch mounting screw to 3 Nm (26 inch lbs.).
3. Connect the electrical connector to the switch.
Check the operation of the switch.
4. Install the left carpet retainer and carpet. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement (Front) or Carpet Retainer Replacement (Rear).
5. Install the left side instrument panel insulator. Refer to Insulator Replacement-IP (LH) or Insulator Replacement-IP (RH) in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
