Window Glass: Adjustments
CAUSES OF SLOW MOVING GLASSCAUTION: Disconnect the power window switch when working inside the driver's door. When operated, the Express Down Feature allows the door window to drop very quickly, without stopping, which could cause personal injury.
1. Owners may comment that the windows (door glass) operates slowly when going up or down.
2. Listed below are four conditions that may cause slow moving glass.
2.1. The glass run channel outboard lip at the rearview mirror is rolled over or the glass run channel outboard lip at the door rear, is rolled over (2).
2.2. The glass run channel is not seated at the door rear.
2.3. The glass is misaligned in the opening.
2.4. The regulator is misaligned causing misalignment of the glass.
ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE
1. Remove the trim panel.
2. Remove the water deflector.
^ Condition 2.1: Using a flat-bladed tool, straighten the run channel lip by pulling it out to its correct position.
^ Condition 2.2: Use a flat-bladed tool to push the run channel rearward to seat it in the door frame.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
^ Condition 2.3: Loosen the window to regulator bolts.
Rotate the cam (5) on the window regulator plate so that the slot (6) is straight up and down. In this position, the back of the glass will tilt forward.
Tighten
Tighten the two window to regulator bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
^ Condition 2.4: Loosen the window to regulator bolts.
Loosen the four regulator bolts.
Now, tighten the window regulator bolts according to the tightening sequence: 1,2,3, and 4.
Tighten
Tighten the four window regulator bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
Tighten the two window to regulator bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the two window to regulator bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
3. Connect the power window switch.
4. Install the water deflector.
5. Install the trim panel.
